Looking for some Stories
The webmaster of the S.S. Jeremiah O’Brien web site has just volunteered to run the website of California Veterans Amputee Group (www.cvamputee.org), a nonprofit site dedicated to exchanging information among veterans with amputations These amputations do not need to be service or combat related and can have happened after honorable service.
With all these youngsters coming home from Iraq with serious injuries from roadside bombs and the like, it is important for them to know that they can live normal lives, hold down jobs, even difficult physical jobs, and raise families.
What better way than to have a number of stories of people who have done just that. If you, or someone you know, however old, maybe a relative who is a World War II, Korean War, or Vietnam veteran, has had such a life, please contact Yves Barbero at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (415) 285-4358. We will assist you with writing the story or editing it. If you are more comfortable being interviewed, we can arrange that using the telephone or actually meeting if you live in the Bay Area.
At the website, detailed instructions can be found at http://www.cvamputee.org/welcome.html.
