Do your major consumer shopping in a state that does not have retail sales taxes, or a much lower rate. Make a list of the items you think you’re going to buy in the next 12 months, and if you can, buy them in a state with no retail taxes. Again, it sends a clear message to politicians via a reduction in retail sales tax revenues. In my state (California — The Bubble State Nightmare), its 9.75% retail sales tax where I live, and that’s a joke.
