Learning to read and write

One historian said if it isn’t written down, it didn’t happen. Unfortunately much of history and knowledge has been lost because it wasn’t written down. Until recently, there was no way to preserve other forms of communication. Even now, we can’t replay many old movies or audio. We will find out if these are successful ways to record information long-term. After a couple of thousand years, we know writing works pretty well.
