As you read about Cascading Style Sheets, you will see that there are several different ways to provide style information – inline, internal and external.
Using the “style” attribute.
For CIS89A assignments – Unless there is a good reason to do something different, use an “internal style sheet” in the head section of your page. This works best course assignments.
- The style information is separate from the content.
- Everything for each assignment is contained in the page file.
Note: The final project is just one page file, even though it represents multiple site pages, so all your site page representations are using your internal style sheet.
Outside the course, if you develop web sites with multiple pages, all the style information should be placed in a separate external style sheet so it can be applied to all pages in the site. We will talk about this later in the course.
