Wow – as a virtual judge, I have scored project submissions from many middle student groups. So far the Science project submissions are pretty lame, but the Engineering projects are much better.
All the science projects have been do-overs of “projects” found online that they “do” – not much effort or original thinking, frequently missing the “science” and/or important parts of the process.
Even if the engineering project didn’t go very well, the kids learned a lot. They understand better why there were problems and were able to identify what they could do to improve the results.
