Which activities are gender neutral? At what age does there start to be identifiable differences in interests in activities? What are the differences in preferences? How is this exhibited? Can the same activity be framed up to have wider appeal and still introduce the science or engineering?
Which are more likely to interest girls – engineering or science? Which engineering activities are most interesting to girls? Are they interested in the "how does it work"? How can math be incorporated seamlessly?
The SWE girls’ engineering activities are primarily gender neutral. The polymer jewelry would be an exception, but it includes some basic material science in the discussion of polymers and chemistry in the preamble.
